Guinness World Record Attempt- Most people dressed as Astronauts in one place
For fun!...and to launch this year’s 2 week Kidderminster Arts & Food Festival (KAFF) where we are celebrating 50 years of the moon landing through 2 weeks of workshops, live performances, music and events.
When & Where?
Saturday 19 October 2019, Brinton Park, Kidderminster, DY11 6QS.
Arrive at Brinton Park bandstand area (overflow car park will be available) between 11am and 11.30am.
12pm will be the official time that we will attempt to break the world record!
What do we have to beat?
Current record is 257 so we want at least 300 people to take part. The more people will hopefully mean that Wyre Forest will hold the record for years to come!
What are the rules?
You must be covered from head to toe as an astronaut.
- Full ‘all in one’ space suit (a white coverall will do the job!)
- A space helmet (or a bike helmet with added cardboard to make it full faced, covered in tin foil!)
- White gloves (or plastic medical gloves)
- Space boots (wellies covered in tin foil)
(Foil recycle bins will be available on the day!)
As long as you follow these rules you will be a fully fledged astronaut and counted in the World Record Attempt...however you don’t have to stop there. Why not make a rocket pack, bring your own alien or get the whole family to arrive in your own rocket! Prizes for best costumes.
How do I take part?
If you are part of a group (i.e. Scouts, Rainbows, Cubs) please let your leaders know that you will be coming along. If you are not part of a group you can still join in the fun. Just turn up or contact us to let us know.
Make sure you have got one of our special KAFF stickers on your space suit to be part of the world record attempt. You will collect these on the day.
Does it cost anything?
No, just turn up and join in the fun! There will be live music, fun & games, dancing and lots to keep you entertained. There will also be stalls selling a range of delicious treats and street food.
What if it rains?
Like true space explorers we will carry on! If you are wearing waterproofs please make sure you put them on under your space suit, as there’s no rain in space!
The attempt has already been featured on BBC Hereford & Worcester Radio and we will be inviting media along on the day. We hope to see you all there to be part of this exciting Guinness World Record Attempt which will be out of this world!
